After a busy week, our cooking energy was low, so we decided to try the new Döner Haus in Heinsberg for a relaxed Friday date night. We’d heard great things, and it didn’t disappoint! We both went for the classic döner kebab—Louis chose his with a simple combo of meat(and alot of it!), lettuce, and both sauces, while I went all-in with lettuce, cucumber, a coleslaw mix, onions, and the spicy and garlic sauces. It was absolutely delicious! Packed with flavor, and truly hit the spot. We’re not the best at rating things, but we’d confidently give it a 9/10. Döner House will definitely be on our list for future Fridays!
Thumbs up to the team at Döner House too. Even though it was packed, and Louis had to wait a good twenty minutes, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The long line was a bit of a downside, but it was worth it. Ordering in German is always a bit tricky for us, but they were patientand helpful and we left with everything we wanted. It’s a great spot, and we could see why it’s become so popular so fast.
Once the kids were in bed, we settled in with our döner and turned on Twisters (the sequel to the classic Twister) on Amazon Prime. It was the perfect choice for our mellow mood—a bit suspenseful but not too intense. Watching it brought back that nostalgic feeling of the original Twister and the memories of the first time we saw it. It’s not the greatest movie of all time, but for our date night, it was just right. We’d probably rate it a 6/10, with an extra thumbs-up for fitting our chilled vibe for the evening sipping wine and chowing Döner.
